Picnic Backet

So this is the last post for my assignment..

Want to share the strangest building in the world but after searching it, i browsing the image I personally find it quite creative.

This is a BUILDING!
Basket building in Ohia, Usa. Is a 7- story with an are of 180,000 square feet corporate headquarters of the Longaberger Basket Company. Inside the building got a atrium with glass ceiling which you can see the basket holder over the roof. This building is an example of Mimetic architecture. The basket handle weight 150 tons which can be heated during cold weather to prevent ice damage. The building is an identity of the  best seller of the wooden basket a.k.a picnic basket.

Personally, i find it very creative, this building make people remember what  their company produce very easily. Good marketing. Others, i find it very catchy because of the texture of building and the hander. It look so real that you might think is a giant basket for alien. It is very hard to seen in Malaysia with this kind of architecture. Usually is very hard to put your own company product as an architecture.
The creativity mine to make their best seller as a building is wonderful. The wooden texture they made on the building are very real.
I really hope that one day i can visit this super giant basket.

Paranorman!

went for movie last few days, decided to watch Paranorman.

When i first heard about is a 3-D stop motion animated horror movie, i was like what is stop motion?

after the movie, i found out all the characters they used are like something make out from dough.

Norman is the main character which can talk to dead spirit, everyone does believe him and look down on him. One day, his uncle came to him and told him he is the one who can protect the town. Then, his journey begin to stop the curse from the witch.

From my view, the animation are very real, it doesnt look like those dough cartoon back in my days. Very fake and it does not move at all. Although this movie was a horror movie, but that day i saw many many parents bring their kids to watch. It's a humour horror cartoon to me. Other than that, this film full with fun character, everyone have their own unique personality. For example, Norman can talk to ghost but people call him freak. Zombies is not bad characters like what we think, they are regret for what they have done to the little girl. Paranorman is a bit of gothic and stylized. It's really a great animation to watch.  There have a great storyline with great character, this animation also consits moral value to children, young adults and adults.

ahhh...should come out before my storybook assignment so i have a clue for it! P/s: should go and watch!

toilet paper roll!?

Many people doesn't care about the toilet paper roll after finishing the toilet paper. They throw it away like me. it because i feel that it a useless rubbish. Well, as my previous post i said that rubbish can become an artwork. So i search it at google about toilet paper art. This is what i found :

Tons of toilet paper with glue and scissors. a great wall deco is out. Recyclable, not involving money, modern and stylish!

Toilet paper art are very inspire-able. It take patient to make one toilet paper roll. Personally i find it quiet interesting that people keep toilet roll to make and artwork. Imagine a big piece of artwork need to use how many toilet roll and how long to gather it?!  Toilet roll as wall deco? never heard before. It is very creative because it doesn't involve big big amount of money to make a wall deco. It look classic and modern. Imagine you put this on your wall and when someone make compliment about it and you said : " Hey, it toilet roll!" they will be like "Whuuuttt?!". For me, i find out that recycle material or RUBBISH are the best medium to make  great artwork. It amazing that people have creative brain to make such things out with one material which is toilet roll. It not just about making and put it aside, it's about Decoration on the wall! Other than that, it designs are simple and modern. Not too fancyfor a wall decoration.

Ribbonesia~

I was googling about origami and this pop out:

I though it was just normal paper origami, the colour attracted me and i click in. After reading, i was surprise is actually made out of ribbon.

It called ribbonesia which is the creation of Japanese artist and illustrator Baku Maeda. It is an art project where 3-D animals are created using ribbons and other fabric. He play with colours of ribbon and the simple repetition of the twist and bend to create ribbonesia. Ribbonesia not just like normal paper origami that usually we fold and  kept it. For ribbonesia, you can used it as a decoration with gift wrapping or as a accessories on your shirt or anything!

I think it is an interesting way to express his creativity using ribbons and fabric. Not like normal paper there are limited to colours or pattern. For ribbon, we can use any colours to express the ribbonesia that you wanted to make. I really admire people who can make amazing hand made stuff. It look elegant and classy to make ribbonesia as a gift to someone or as a decoration. The creativity of using ribbon to make and art or sculpture out is totally different from others. Although i think i will be costly, but at least is something that i never thought before. Is time for me to buy some ribbon and store it at home. How i wish there have a workshop for ribbonesia in Malaysia. I would definitely like to go and visit!

The WF!

Here is another Youtube production I admire,

Wong Fu Production is film making group found by Ted Fu, Wesley Chan and Philip Wang. There are students and dorm mate from UCSD at San Diego. They started making video in 2003. Before having a professional official company, Sketchbook Media, they post their video on Youtube.

Wong Fu Production gained their popularity by producing music video and short films. Their works have been featured in national and international film festivals. For instant, Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival. They have already inspired many people to go in this field. They hit one million subscriber in 2011. They also film singer music video. Others, they have tour around  the country, university, give talks and collaborate with other youtubers. In their production company, they came out with their design brand- "Nice Guy" which sell soft toy, T-shirt, badges, cups and more. ALL are done by threesome!

Personally, i found out their videos are very creative and unique. three of them  have  unique personality  which i think is important for online film maker. It actually way more easy for audience to remember you.

Film making is also a creativity field, as Wong Fu Production they have lot of different idea to make video from sad to happy. Their creativity have shown in their video. They inspire me to dream big.  You just cant find one way to reach your goal, try others! Wong Fu uses the internet to gain popularity, to became a successful filmmaker. Other than that, they inspire me to be grateful for what you have. They said before they are very lucky that able to make movies for living, for what they are interested. I also must be grateful as i can study the course that i wanted.

The leftover...

Did you ever think before garbage become an unlimited Art Material?

I was reading some blog yesterday and i saw this

At the first glance i though is was acrylic painting, but when i read the title it shock me. The artist use plastic leftover form broken toy and electronic device, wires, and other type of garbage to create this artwork. The recycle artist used smelly useless junk into a texture with a new meaning and content. The artist did not simply gather everything together, as you can see in this artwork, it obviously can see the shading and it look 2D. Other than that, it actually saving up lots of material money when you actually really go out and find those leftover. It simply doesn't consume more.

Recycled art are beautiful and inspiring. It represent a person creativity mind. Personally, i think that recycled art are more difficult than others.  You need to have a very creative mind to search for different leftover material and gather them together and form a real art.that have different texture and colors. This recycled portrait inspire me that not every pieces of artwork you must draw, paint and waste money to but material. Look around yourself, there are so many not useful stuff that you can keep it together and try to make a recycled art. Through waste, we also can make a beautiful pieces.

Bon dë Odori!

Recently me and friend went to Bon Odori Malaysia occur at Shah Alam. This is the first time i went to Bon Odori. i was surprise that lots of people actually join this event.

In Japan, Bon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirit of the one that pass away. It actually has been celebrate more than 500 year. Bon Odori include a dance known as Bon-Dance. Because Bon Odori occur in summer in Japan, people usually wear Yukata (traditional wear). It also have huge carnival ride, foods and games. In Japan, they also put floating lanterns on the river that symbolize the ancestor spirit return to the world of death. At the end of the festival, they have firework display.2

While in Malaysia are a bit slightly different.Bon Odori was organizer by the Ministry of Tourism and The Japan Club Kuala Lumpur. Bon Odori in Malaysia doesn't have firework display and lantern. There have lots of different food stall and in the middle of the field have a big stage for people to perform Bon dance. After the speech and everything, dancer will go up to the stage and dance. The crowd will follow the dancer dance step by step.

Finding inspiration doesn't mean that you need to search for those top best artwork or any best thing. Inspiration might just came by searching some simple, basic or traditional thing. Bon Odori inspire me to remain the tradition sometimes. For the past 36 year they remain the same culture, same dance, same food but the event attracted many people to come. It inspire me that, for an artwork you can modify it but without changing the meaning or the technique. Other than that, Bon Odori inspire me about country culture and respect. In Bon Odori, people wearing Yukata include Malaysian, we interact. It seem that the relationship between our country and Japan getting closer. I personally respect their tradition culture that bring a different experience to me.

Yukata.

Street Art

When it come to street art, most people think that is a vandalism. But actually what is street art?

Street art is a visual art take space in the public streets. Street art are different from vandalism. Street art look more meaningful than people who write their names or something meaningless on the wall. Sometime street art are very political.

James Reka, in my "The Amazing street artist" list. He is young and up-coming Melbourne artist acknowledge as pioneer among the Melbourne street art. His art piece in street art are mainly about his creation of mystery creature/cartoon that communicate through color and movement. He played around with the style of fantasy and surrealism.

Grabbed via James Reka Blog

The above picture present by James Reka.

Personally, i think that street art is a kind of culture that represented a country, a beautiful street art may attract attention. Street art also shown a person creativity in public. For example, street art artist use the opportunity of the wall to paint something look weird, funny or even 3D. In my opinion, James Reka did a very good job on the street wall. His painted cartoon on the wall with striking colors. He inspire me that sometime you may no need to think logically. Creating something that never seen/heard before also a creativity.

Finding inspiration or being creative doesn't mean that you need to sit inside your room facing a small paper! Be like a street artist, get out form the room, face the public, the big wall and let the creative in you flow into your mind.

This post going talk about a talented  architectural artist- Stephen Wiltshire

He was born on 24 April 1974 is a British Architectural artist in West Indian. He was born in London, England. At the age of 3, he actually has been diagnosed with autism. Autism is a disorder of neural development. People who suffer from this doesn't like social interaction and communication. Meanwhile, his father pass away in an accident. At the age of 5, he sent to Queensmill School to express his talent.  At the age of 8, he started to draw imaginary post-earthquake cityscapes and cars. When he was 10, he a series of London landmark with each letters. He called it "London Alphabet".
Here are some example of "London Alphabet" drew by Stephen;

After that, he attended City and Guilds of London Art School. After he graduated, he started to draw accurate and detailed of cityscape. In May 2005, Stephen produced a panoramic memory drawing of Tokyo on a 32.8-foot-long canvas. The only things he do is ride on a helicopter for 20 minutes, look around, and the cityscape is already in his mind. All he have to do is sit down and draw.  He had already drawn Rome, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Dubai, Jerusalem. The most shocking is Rome cityscape. He drew so much detail that the number of columns in the Pantheon is correct.

Rome
In 2009, he completed the series of panoramas of New York City. As usual 20 minutes of ride, he sketched the whole view of New York.
Recently, he started his project at Shanghai, China. He had done a lot of amazing artwork

New York.

Personally, i think that human brain are unlimited. Like Stephen, he use his own memory and sketched the whole country. Every pieces of his artwork was inspiring because of the accuracy, detail of each representative historical building. He drew exactly the same. He inspire me to focus on small details when comes to drawing. Toward people that at unfortunate, creativity still remain in their life. The express differently. Such as Stephen, he express it through landscape drawing. People were amaze about it.

The author, Cecelia Ahern is an Irish novelist since 2004. She was born in 30 September 1981. She obtained a Degree in Journalism and Media Communications from Griffth College Dublin. P.S I Love You was her first novel. It actually adapted to a film. She wrote few books such as Where Rainbow End, The Gift etc. She also produce short stories.

I love this book because she is good at pin-point the emotions of the character through words, thoughts and fears that someone in mourning go through especially you lost your beloved one. This book is good for those who has lost someone very special in their lives. The book theme is normal is strong! How hard for a person to go back to a normal life, when the love one are gone? It hard to go back to normal life, so Cecelia choose to wrote the story by letting the main character start her life all over again.

Cecelia use strong words that touch people feeling. Creativity can't stop by in words. It's more harder to express a feeling through a book with LOTS of words. It inspired me not to give up easily in  life and beautiful words express strong feelings

Bitten Apple

Recently, I have just gotten an Apple Macbook Pro 13 inch. Although it is costly but I needed it for my three years of degree in Graphic Design. The pictures displayed on the screen is remarkably amazing, gotta thank Steve Jobs for founding Apple company. Moreover, this is the first Apple product that I actually acquired. The functions are totally different from a normal average Windows.

Taken via Google

The first thing I found out about my Macbook Pro is that there is no right click? O_o After learning it in university and the manual book, I roughly know how to operate a Mac.

The incredible and inspirational creator of Apple Inc, Steve Job have been admired by people around the world. I, myself admire Steve Job's ability as a designer, inventor and also a successful businessman. He had change the computer revolution in this world. He also know as the co-founder, chairman, CEO of Apple Inc. Steve Job is also  a member of the board of director  of The Walt Disney.

Steve Jobs background- also name as Steve Paul Jobs , born at February 24 1955 in California. He have 4 children which are Lisa-Brennan-Jobs (writer), Reed Jobs, Erin Jobs and Eve Jobs.

As a designer, Steve Jobs studies about typography. He said that he always focus on small little things (details) like every curve, pixel, gradient and light. For example, on the macbook Pro the sleep indicator light glows when it closed, every computer have it..what so special? For mac it know as timed to glow at average breathing rate of and adult.

Steve Jobs have received many honor and public  recognition because he had influence the technology industries. He has been called as the "Father of Digital Revolution".

Although he had pass away last years, but his creation has change the world of technology. Although Steve Jobs did not complete his study but with his creation, intelligent and imagination. He came out iPod, iPhone, iMac with different series that most of the people are holding now. I truly admire him, he used simplicity in all his design and creation. He is also a great leadership example. Creative leadership, he keep on coming something new to his customers.

In my opinion, Steve Jobs done the greatest invention until now. His creativity from a typography to Apple Computer to the finest Graphic on the screen in Apple Computer, to iPod-music, to iPad- entertainment, iPhone- Communication, iMac- Designer & businesses. All his invention just came in to people daily stuff.

Mickey the Mouse!

" I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing-- That it was all started by a mouse."
- Walt Disney, Disneyland; October 27,1954

Recently went to MidValley Mall to have a look at The Mickey Mouse Exhibition. Various painted Mickey with the used by different medium are bring displayed at the exhibitions. There have LARGE size Mickey and small size Mickey around. There are painted by different people such as students and artists. It actually eye catchy because of the 10 feet tall mickey place at the center of the exhibition and the mixture of different colour on the Mickey.

Taken via Google

Mickey Mouse is a signature cartoon of Walt Disney Studio. To whom that born in 80's and 90's people sure know what is Mickey Mouse? How it look like?

Mickey- Black Mouse, wearing red shorts, yellow shoes and white gloves. The original Mickey wasn't in colour and doesn't look attractive. Until now, Mickey actually have  a lot of changers and it still improving.

The company usually use this  symbol "Mickey Mouse" to represent Mickey. I remember when i was a child i used to search for hidden Mickey when there is a particular advertisement to search for the hidden symbol of Mickey.

For the exhibition, there are many small mickey that are painted with different style and design. It not just about painting, it about the creativity of the design. Some Mickey have clothes on it, some and weird tools, some have lace, some even have grass on it.

Some picture I took,

Creativity are actually improving days by days, practice by practice. Human dreams can become a design. I have look through the design of Mickey Mouse, design are not like in a certain way that you have a formula for it. It need changes. We can design anything, out of anything!

Paper art

City in a Box
This a a gift from a special person on my birthday. It named "City in a Box". Its actually a empty container box and fill in with paper art. Although it just a simple and plain paper art but it actually needed a lot of effort to do it. The cutting, arrangement and folding. And the interesting part----- there's a hidden pocket at the background that fill in with a letter. This actually catch my attention and I started to do paper art! Oh! as you can see it actually is Paris in the Box..

I search on the internet for paper toy template because I still don know how to design it. It actually take lots of my time! During the semester break, i actually make a PANDA collection of paper art.! I am still improving my cutting, folding, gluing skills.

The panda crew collection!

I found our when most people think of art involving paper they sure think of drawing, sketching or painting. However, human are creative! They use paper for paper art or Craft, pop-out, Paper Toy, Origami, Collage and more.
This is how amazing creative and imagination can be. It not just creative in designing the template but also creative in different form like cutting, folding, and carving!
It just a small inspired  from the gift box.

The Piano Guys

It have been a while I start listening to classical music. "They" has been a YouTube channel Classical Music band I admire a lot. "They" are not so famous in Malaysia. "They" have never been to Malaysia to open an concert or orchestral. "They" release album but it hard to find in Malaysia.
"They" are ThePianoGuys.

ThePianoGuys is an American music duo which is Jon Schimdt and Steven Sharp Nelson. They became well-known since 2011 on their YouTube channel. They posted videos of popular song, videos of their creation on their channel accompanied by professionally good-looking scene and background.

Their music genre is more on rock or classical music or mix and match. On May 5,2012, ThePianoGuys YouTube channel have over 81.5 millions total views. This is their success in the music field with their talents and creativity. On March 2012, they became the top 300 world-wide YouTube Channels.

Taken via Google

Lets briefly know about them. Jon Schimdt is an American pianist. He was born in July 9, 1966. He began songwriting at age of 11.Until now, he had release 8 albums and 7 piano books.

Taken via Google.

Steven Sharp Nelson  is a pioneer in playing cello. He began learning cello at 8. He actually invented a new method to play cello. He have release few album and some went in to the Billboard chart.

Generally, not many people like to listen to classical music. They already have a mind set that classical music is boring, slow and just-an-instrument-music. What so special?

ThePianoGuys are talented, inspiring and creative. Their music is more on like the "New Age Classical" which mean the combination of old classic music with the modern technique and style. This make their music and the music video more interesting and fun.

From them, I got inspired by they creativity. That classical music does not mean to limited in the old age, slow and boring. It can collaborate with the modern music genre such as rock, R&B, Blue etc.

ThePianoGuys actually inspired me to listen to classical music and know how amazing music can be although I dont know how to use any musical instrument. Other than that, with a good music they also produce a good music video. The idea they used for every music video they posted is completely nice and NEVER-SEEN-BEFORE.

In any field, creativity place an important role. With great idea, produce great things.

This is one of my favorite! http://www.smileycodes.infoStill got many more that I like. Search them on Youtube and Subscribe!
